History: | "It is believed that this area is part of the location of a 1600 acre land grant which Lord Baltimore gave to the Secretary of his province, Colonel Henry Coursey, about 1658. This was done in consideration of the valuable services rendered to the government by Colonel Coursey, particularly those relating to a treaty made with the Iroquois Indians.
